1. What this covers
1.1 This Policy explains what we store on your device, and what we read from it, when you use advertise.lv — cookies, and also local storage, pixels, tracking links and any similar technology. The law treats all of these the same way, whether or not the information is personal data.
1.2 The rule that applies is Section 7.¹ of the Information Society Services Law of the Republic of Latvia, which implements Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC. We may store information on your device, or read information already stored there, only with your consent — unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
1.3 Where cookies involve personal data, the Privacy Policy also applies.
2. Your choice
2.1 When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies that are not strictly necessary.
2.2 You can refuse as easily as you can accept. “Accept all” and “Reject all” appear together on the first screen of the banner, with the same size, colour and prominence. Nothing is pre-ticked. Closing the banner, scrolling or continuing to browse is not consent — we take no action until you choose.
2.3 Refusing costs you nothing. Every part of the Platform works if you reject everything except strictly necessary cookies. You can browse listings, create an account, message hosts and complete a booking.
2.4 You can change your mind at any time, using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
2.5 We ask again after 12 months, and sooner if we add a new purpose or a new provider.
2.6 We keep a record of what you consented to and when, because we have to be able to demonstrate consent.
3. What we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — no consent required
These are needed to provide the Platform. They cannot be switched off.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token (your browser may split it into two parts ending .0 and .1) | advertise.lv — set on our domain by our sign-in provider, Supabase | Keeps you signed in, so you are not asked for your password on every page | HTTP cookie | 30 days |
| sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | advertise.lv (Supabase) | A one-time proof used while you sign in or confirm an e-mail change, so the code can only be completed by the browser that started it | HTTP cookie | Until used, at most 30 days |
| advertise_consent | advertise.lv | Remembers the answer you gave the cookie banner (mirrored in local storage so the banner does not reappear while the page loads) | HTTP cookie and local storage | 12 months |
3.2 Preferences — only with your consent
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| advertise_locale | advertise.lv | Remembers whether you chose English, Latvian or Russian. If you decline, the language is carried in the page address instead | HTTP cookie | 12 months |
| advertise.selection.v1 | advertise.lv | Remembers the spaces you have added to your current campaign selection between pages. If you decline, the selection lasts only while the page is open | Local storage | Until you submit the request or clear the selection |
3.3 Analytics — none
We use no analytics: no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, no page-view counter of our own. Analytics is not strictly necessary under Latvian law — there is no exemption for statistics — so if we ever introduce it, it will appear here as its own switch and nothing will be set until you accept.
3.4 Marketing and advertising — none
No advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no social-media widgets and no embedded third-party content are loaded on the Platform. If we introduce any — for example a Meta pixel to measure our own advertising — it will appear here and will require separate consent before we use it.
3.5 E-mail
The e-mail we send you about your own account, listings and booking requests contains no tracking pixels. We send no marketing e-mail at present. Reading information from your device in an e-mail is subject to the same consent rule, so if we ever use tracking pixels we will ask for your consent separately.
4. Third parties
4.1 Where a cookie is set by someone other than us, the table above names them. Those providers act as our processors and may not use the data for their own purposes, except where the table says otherwise.
4.2 Embedded content from other sites — for example a map or a video — may set its own cookies. We load embedded content only after you have consented.
5. How to control cookies in your browser
5.1 You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the Platform working — for example you will not be able to stay logged in.
6. Complaints
6.1 If you think we are handling this wrongly, tell us at [email protected]. You may also complain to the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), Elijas iela 17, Rīga, LV-1050, dvi.gov.lv.
7. Changes
7.1 We update this Policy when we add or remove a technology. The current version and its date are at the top. Where we add a new purpose or provider, we ask for consent again.
